Galway Hooker Widgeon (Gleoiteog class) - 28'6" length overall on deck (i.e. excluding bowsprit); 7 6 beam, 3 9draft, gaff-rigged; larch planks on oak frames; had a major rebuild in 2003 - new stem, new sternpost, new deadwoods, new garboards, new keel, some frames, some new planking, new coach roof (marine ply) and cabin sides (hardwood), new cockpit (hardwood), new weatherboards, new engine (Yanmar 18 hp)- less than 250 hours. Invoices and receipts available for rebuild carried out (costing approximately 27,000).
Two mainsails (one new 2009), three staysails, three jibs (one new 2009). All reasonable offers considered. |

This cruiser/racer is in excellent condition. She has been used for cruising and lightly raced. She has been stored ashore each Winter on the purpose-built trailer. Anti-fouled, keel-screw greased, etc. Sails: Mainsail 04, Furling headsail 08 (McWilliam), Symetrical spinnaker 07 (McWilliam), Loos professional tension gauge.
Trailer: Four-wheel braked trailer, custom built (2006), galvanized, SBS Builder (UK), never immersed, spare wheel, two axle stands, trailer light board, two heavy-duty straps with ratchets.
Accomodation - 4 berth, large double forward and port/stbd qtr single berths. The galley consists of a single gas cooker & moulded sink with cold water from a flexible water tank. There is good stowage within the cabin area. Chemical toilet (Porta Potti).
Navigation Equipment: 2 Batteries 12 V 50 Amp
12 V electrical panel, Raymarine ST 40 integrated Log/Speedo/Depth Sounder. Bulkhead compass, autohelm and remote control. VHF radio.
Rigging: Alloy mast and boom, spinnaker pole.
4 fenders, 2 warps, 3 life jackets, horseshoe buoy and warp, Harken deck equipment. Anchor chain and warp. Set of flares.
